Brian and Michelle May 21 - June 1 2001
Hedonism III - May 19-26 Brian & Michelle I want to preface this report by first saying that when Michelle and I went to Hedo III, we didn't know anything about the Wild Bunch. We only knew that we wanted to go somewhere where we could experience some interesting, non-judgemental people in a very relaxed environment and just enjoy something new and different. I have to say we definitely met that goal and meeting the Wild Bunch was one of the highlights. Michelle is almost 35, about 5 ft nothing and maybe 100 lbs all wet. She was tiny little really really fair-skinned girl that entered the Miss Hedo Nude contest and did the number on the banana! You would also remember her as the girl that was running around handing out the beads and everybody thought she was from New Orleans. You can't miss her, she's so white she practically glows in the dark. I turned 44 on Tuesday of the trip with the very gray hair and an ear-to-ear grin on my face for 7 days.
On Sunday night we accidently walked into your kick-off happy hour in the Piano Bar and became aware almost immediately that this was not just an ordinary Happy Hour. Not wanting to seem out of place, we just sat there and waited for our turn to be nicknamed. Michelle's nickname here in Phoenix is M&M's so she naturally was named Candy Fu%k and I have on more than one occasion been accused of having a twisted sense of humor so I was given the name Twisted Fu%k. Either way, the whole thing was a riot! Michelle and I both knew right away that we were with the "right" kind of people. Neither of us had ever been to Hedonism and while both she and I have traveled internationally extensively and vacationed many places, neither of us had ever been to a place like this. I'm sold! It was flat out, the best vacation I ever had and one that I really needed. On a personal note, I had just gone through a very difficult divorce this spring and have known Michelle for a number of years. We were discussing what to do to celebrate my new freedom and my 44th birthday and decided on a whim to try Hedonism. I had always wanted to go there since my first trip to Sandals in 1990 but never could convince my wife to go. Michelle, on the other hand, thought it would be a blast and it was! Meeting all of you people and more importantly, watching people that really know how to let loose, was the highlight of the vacation for both of us. We had never been to a nude beach before, but we were amazed at how easy it was to get used to. After the first day, there was no point in going to the other side of the resort. The nude pool and spa was simply the "place to be". I have to say, we met and spoke to John and Robin, Walter and Cheryl, Becca & Bill, Verla & Terry, Chris & Kioko, and Al and Alicia but I regret not spending more time getting to know everyone better because you are all great!! I won't recount the entire trip in detail as I have read many accounts of it already. Instead I will simply list the high-points (Many) and low-points (Few) of the week as seen by one interested observer:
MOST FUN DAY: For me, it had to be my birthday on Tuesday. I spent virtually the entire day in my birthday suit culminating with the Leather & Lace party in the disco where Michelle got 3rd place in the bondage category for her tiny leather outfit. Ended up in the spa watching the wildlife and wondering, "Damn, why haven't I ever done this before now?"
DRINKS: Not all that impressive. Plentiful but not much of kick. Must be "really" watered down, because they don't seem to hit me at all. Nest time we're bringing our own private stock. I'll make you folks and ass-kicking Margarita and show you how to do a Tequila body shot, Arizona style!
MUSIC: Enjoyed the Reggae stuff at night, but the place is seriously lacking some music and variety at the nude pool. I say we put together 50 or so customer feedback cards with the same theme. Maybe they'll upgrade the music scene!
MOST ENJOYABLE MOMENT (Michelle): Joining in the 4girls-on-1 body shots in the spa. Both the giving "and" receiving. She claims it was the frozen drink she liked, but I suspect the drink had nothing to do with why she "really" liked it! She and I have experienced body shots in my spa before, but none quite like this! MOST ENJOYABLE MOMENT (Brian): Michelle re-enacting her Miss Hedo Nude banana-swallowing with me act one evening by the pool.
MOST INTERESTING SIGHT: 2 girls going at in the spa one night. Gotta love that!!
BIGGEST SURPRISE: The ease with which Michelle and I got into the nude pool scene. It helped meeting all the crazy people and feeling right at home. The second biggest surprise was the great looking people we saw. The ladies were awesome I speak for Michelle when I say that I think she was also pleasantly surprised by the guys!
THE FOOD: Although I didn't go for the food, it was pretty damn good. I liked the Japanese restaurant and particularly enjoyed licking soft ice cream off of Michelle's boobs! What can I say, it just makes everything taste better.
THE SECURITY: What security? Gotta love it.
FUNNIEST MOMENTs #1: Meeting Paul & Kitty. They were the ones with all the wild cotumes on wether there was a theme night or not. They were a trip to talk to.
FUNNIEST MOMENTs #2: The mooning of passing boats in the ocean and the naked raids on the slide. Gotta love it!
BEST DRESSED/COSTUMES: Robin, we loved that dress you wore with the cutouts all up and down the side. Michelle wants to know where to get something like that? Verla, your costume the night of the Bare As You Dare was awesome!
FUNNY MOMENTs #3: The first night Al and Alicia arrived and sat down at our table for dinner. Al had throttled up on the drinks all afternoon since it was his first day and he was wrecked. All he could say was, "Wow, I don't feel so good".
ROOMS: We stayed in the QUAD and didn't spend much time in it, but you gotta love the mirrors everywhere. Michelle and I were fascinated with the view if you know what I mean. Wished we could have been in the building on the nude side. Next time, that's where we want to be!
STUPIDEST THING I SAW: When that pinhead with a day-pass layed on top of that lady at the pool and damn near had his head ripped off by her husband.
DISAPPOINTMENT: Having the nude Catamaran cruise cancelled. Michelle and I were looking forward to doing that and were the first to sign up and pay. Proce was not a big deal and would like to do that again some time.
BEST THING ABOUT HEDO: The people!! All around, it was the people we met and got to know. They were flat out awesome to watch. It renewed my belief that there are still a "lot" of people that love to have fun at any age.
QUESTIONS??: Alright, since Michelle and I didn't get the Hedo 101 training video, what the heck is a "Vinny" and a "Willy"? Can somebody tell us?
OVERALL IMPRESSION: Best vacation I ever had. Partly because of the sweetheart of a lady I was with and partly because of the really cool people we met and partied with!
In summary, Michelle and I had the time of our lives and are looking at going again in October. I know of about 6 couples that I think would have a blast down there and am actively recruiting to see if we can get them to go. If so, I "guarantee" they would fit right in. These are folks that have trouble keeping their clothes on in public as it is with nicknames like "No Pants Rance", "Wicked Wanda", "Jazzy Jeff", and "Camolicious" I think they would add to the entertainment. As such, I am hopeful we can recruit them. If not, Michelle and I will be there regardless. Thanks WB for the fun. Hope to see you soon!
