TIME: The island falls within the Eastern Time Zone and does NOT observe Daylight Savings Time. At times in Jamaica however, it seems as if we don't observe any time at all. For the least amount of stress on your vacation in Jamaica you may want to think about leaving your watch behind! At approximately 18 degrees north of the equator, the island falls within the tropics, and as such does not experience drastic seasonal changes in sunrise and sunset times. Year round the island averages between 11.5 and 12.5 hours of sunlight per day.

MEDICAL CARE: There is a nurse's station close to the lobby with a registered nurse that works regular office hours. Should you have a medical emergency, a qualified medical doctor is on call 24/7. If the doctor is called, there will be a charge for services. If the nurse is not in the office, check with the front desk and they will page her. In the event you run out of a prescription medication (because you just extended your trip for another two weeks), just bring the bottle to the nurse and she can reorder for you by telephone. The pharmacy downtown actually delivers.

DAY AND NIGHT PASSES: If you are not a registered guest of Hedonism II and would like to visit the resort while vacationing in Jamaica, you can do so by purchasing a "Day" or "Night" pass at the front desk. This allows you access to all resort facilities.

ROOMS: There are well over 250 rooms arranged along the beach in two story buildings and with several Garden View buildings as well. All rooms are the same size and layout except for those with a view and first floor rooms with outdoor Jacuzzi tubs. The rooms are air-conditioned, with mirrored ceilings and 1 king or 2 twin beds. Each room is equipped with a T.V. with VCR, clock radio/CD player, telephone, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, coffee maker, and a safe. See Map Page for details on locations. The resort splits in the middle (where the common area buildings are located) into a "Prude" (or clothed) section to the East, and the Nude section to the West. The Nude pool area (and Grill) is located at the far end of the North or "Nude" section of the resort.

WATER: All drinking water in Jamaica is purified and filtered by the most modern methods. Jamaica has hundreds of springs and rivers, both above and under ground. The water is safe for you to drink, clean your teeth, bath and wash clothing in. If you choose not to drink the water, rest assured, there are many brands of Jamaican Spring water that meet or exceed the highest international standards, available at most shops and restaurants off the property. It is also available in the resort Gift Shop..

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: In Jamaica the electricity is 110 volts/50 cycles, and the common household plug is standard. (Electrical items such as hair dryers) tend to run a tiny bit slower as US electricity is 60 cycles.)

WEATHER: Jamaica's average annual temperature is 80°F / 27°C. The average yearly temperature range is between 78°F and 85°F . For most of the year it is also quite humid.  Brief daily rain showers are not uncommon.

INTERNET ACCESS: Hedonism II is now offering full WiFi service throughout the resort. Cost is $15 per day or $90 per week for access. If you don't have your own computer, there is an Internet Cafe off the main lobby with computers for Guest use for a small fee.

TELEPHONE SERVICE: Most cell phones will work in Jamaica, but be sure to contact your provider to make sure that International Roaming is enabled.  Hotel phones will connect to most International carriers for a $2.00 fee.  Dialing direct from your room phone to your home can be VERY expensive.
